Travelled down from Toronto to Detroit along route 401. With my history with speed limits I was careful bearing in mind there were a few cop cars along the route- next time you moan about speed cameras being sneaky, this route had speed limits monitored by aircraft. I can't win!
Took 20 minutes to cross back into US 10 mins queue and 10 mins talking to border patrol. He was very interested in my trip and keen to warn me that detroit is the murder capital of America. I thought everyone I met was very friendly however 2 people were murdered the night before I left.
Went on Ford factory rouge tour and to the Henry Ford Museum - it's funny but with all the exhibits and items there it was quiet around the museum as everyone was queuing to see films that were being shown!
The people mover in Detroit is mad. It is just like the barclaycard ad with the rollercoaster- it actually cuts through the corners of buildings or just goes right through them, 2 stories up.
No sport on while in Detroit so while near Greektown I went to look at Ford Field and Comerica park from the outside. Detroit was very quiet to be honest unlike Chicago, where I am now. Stopped at US Cellular Field on way to hotel to get a ticket for the white sox on Sunday. Fed up with ticketmaster who seem to have rights to all ticket sales - ticket cost $24 from ticket office but ticketmaster would have been nearly $40. After getting ticket took an hour and a half to go 15 miles to hotel.
Very muggy in Detroit and now here in Chicago.
